Your information is used only to support that civic mission.

We do not run advertising networks, sell user data, or track users across the internet.

Participation on the platform is about strengthening democratic engagement — not building marketing profiles.

When you interact with AmericanVoters — such as creating an account, signing up for updates, following legislation, or contacting elected officials — we may collect the following information.

Personal Information

  • Salutation, First Name, Last Name
    Used to personalize communications and ensure respectful messaging when contacting public officials.
  • Email Address and Phone Number
    Used to send alerts, updates, and opportunities to participate in civic engagement.
  • Street Address, City, State, ZIP Code
    Congressional messaging systems require address verification to confirm that messages come from actual constituents.
  • Confirmation that You Are 16 or Older and a U.S. Voter (or Eligible Future Voter)
    Used to ensure participation meets platform eligibility requirements.

Optional Information

  • Advocacy Interests, Concerns, or Volunteer Preferences
    Used to tailor communications and connect you with relevant civic opportunities.

Platform Activity

We may also store information related to how you use the platform, such as:

  • Bills you choose to follow
  • Concerns you select
  • Messages you send to elected officials
  • Site preferences and account settings

This information helps improve the platform and support civic engagement.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, or financial account details.

AmericanVoters does not control how congressional offices store or use messages once they are delivered.

To operate the platform, we may share limited information with trusted technology providers that help us deliver services.

Account Deletion and Civic Records

When you delete your account, your personal profile information will be removed from our active systems.

However, messages that were previously sent to elected officials through the platform may be retained as part of the platform's civic engagement records. These records may be retained in anonymized form to maintain system integrity, support transparency, and prevent abuse.

Information may also remain in secure backups for a limited time as part of normal system operations.
