Our Mission

Strengthening Representative Democracy

Congress acts every day it is in session. Citizens should be able to follow, understand, and participate just as consistently.

SeniorsUnited exists to close the gap between citizens and the Congress that represents them — by building tools that make civic participation clearer, more accessible, and grounded in how government actually works.

The Challenge We See

Representative democracy depends on informed, engaged constituents — not just once every few years, but every day Congress is in session.

Yet for many Americans, participation between elections can be difficult:

  • Legislative language is complex and hard to follow
  • The legislative process can feel opaque and inaccessible
  • Access to policymakers is often dominated by organized interests
  • Citizens lack practical tools to track legislation and contact their representatives

When people disengage, power shifts elsewhere.

That's not a failure of citizens. It's a failure of access.

Our Approach

SeniorsUnited believes the solution is straightforward: give citizens the tools and information they need to participate effectively.

Technology That Serves Citizens

We build civic technology that translates the complexity of Congress into clear, actionable information. Our AmericanVoters platform connects citizens to the legislative process through tools designed for real people — not insiders.

Transparency in Everything

We publish how we operate, how we're funded, and how we produce our legislative analysis. Citizens deserve to know who is providing their information and why.

Nonpartisan Civic Engagement

We don't endorse candidates, promote parties, or tell people what to think. We help citizens understand what Congress is doing so they can decide for themselves how to engage.

What We're Building Toward

Our goal is a country where every citizen — in every voting district — has the practical ability to:

  • Understand the legislation that affects their lives
  • Follow the work of their representatives between elections
  • Speak directly to Congress through official channels
  • Make informed decisions about the issues that matter to them

This isn't a partisan goal. It's a constitutional one. The Founders designed a system that assumes an engaged citizenry. We're building the tools to make that assumption a reality.

Why This Matters Now

Members of the House of Representatives face the voters every two years — for a reason. The Constitution assumes an engaged public: citizens who follow legislation, understand the issues before Congress, and speak up when it matters.

Today, that engagement is more important than ever. Public trust in institutions is low. Polarization makes it harder to find common ground. And the complexity of modern legislation puts meaningful participation out of reach for many Americans.

SeniorsUnited is working to change that — one citizen, one district, one bill at a time.

If you believe representative government works best when people stay involved, there are several ways to participate:
